Internet Explorer 8 with Windows 7 helps you surf the Internet quicker. With the latest version of IE you need not open up a new window to find information such as driving directions. You can get the information without leaving the page you are on by using Accelerators.

The feature combines your browsing history with detailed suggestions from your favorite search providers in order to lead you to more targeted search results.

Of all the methods for browsing pages on the Internet, none is quite as worse as having to type Internet addresses with the http:// and the www.somethingorother.com in the address bar. Windows 7 has a feature called AutoComplete to help remove errors in typing and speed this tedious process. This virtuous tool looks at the first few characters of the URL you type in the address bar and based on that, attempts to make suitable them to one of the complete addresses that is stored in the address bar drop-down list.

Let us take an example. If you click in the address bar, select all the characters in the present Internet address that follow http://www. Which is the standard beginning for most Web addresses and then supersede the last part of the present address with the letter h, AutoComplete opens the address bar drop-down list, displaying all the Web sites that you have visited at the latest whose URL begins with h.

To visit any one of the Internet addresses showed in the address bar drop-down list, You need to simply click that Internet address. Internet Explorer then enters the complete URL of the Web site that you clicked in the address bar and it automatically shows the page.

The AutoComplete feature also works when you browse folders on a network or local disk. To show a list of latest viewed documents on your hard drive, you need to click in the address bar and then type the letter of your hard drive (c is the default hard drive in most cases) and click 'next'. Now click the document you want to open in the address bar drop-down list.

Compatibility View

Internet Explorer 8 has a new Compatibility View feature that empowers this version of the Internet browser to switch to a view when visiting Web sites that were made for older versions of Internet browsers. You can often fix alignment and spacing problems and enhance the look of the text on the pages of the Web site by switching to this view. Internet Explorer 8 tells you that when a particular Web site might give a advantage from Compatibility View by automatically showing a Compatibility View button with a ragged page icon in between the address bar and the Refresh button which is the one with the two alternating arrows icon. When you choose the Compatibility View item from the Tools menu or click the Compatibility View button, IE 8 redraws the existing page in the browser window in a way that conforms more with the standards of older Internet browsers. It then highlights the Compatibility View button next to the address bar and shows a summarized message beneath its Web tab, indicating that you are now viewing the site in Compatibility View.
